No more #NYFW hashtags needed as this season has come and gone, leaving us plotting our wardrobes ahead in preparation for Fall 2015! Although the overall vibe at the shows this season was “stay warm,” it’s clear that it’s only a matter of time before past trends come back around. Here are a few of our favorites:

There was a strong ’70s aesthetic in nearly every collection being shown at Lincoln Center. From high-waisted pants, flowing peasant tops and floor length floral maxi dresses brought back memories of Studio 54, feathered hair and disco. You can embrace your inner hippie with these 70’s throwbacks with a modern twist.
Plaid, checks, and gingham…oh my! Plaid and checkered prints are back in a big way. Designers have taken the typical “picnic-wear” style look and re-imagined it in a chic, sexy way. Beautiful color combinations and modern fabrics keep the classic sweetness of the looks with a modern twist.
Embrace your sass with bright, head-turning reds. Poppy shades of red and coral will be ripe for the picking next season. Many women reserve red for Valentine’s Day or the Holidays but designers have taken red to glamorous and luxurious show-stopping everyday pieces. Be bold!

New Touches of Tangerine
Next fall will call for touches of bright tangerine, dark orange and all colors in between. Whether you want just a touch of orange or a full length ombre sequined evening gown, orange in all of its hues are a must have for the months coming up. Play with different hues to find the perfect orange color for your skin tone.

Each season, designers have their own unique ways to incorporate leather into their collections. This season it is being used for everything such as an accent, like elbow length leather gloves from Marc Jacobs, to full leather ensembles complete with a leather vest, coat, and pants from Ralph Lauren. Adding a few touches of leather can give any outfit a chic but edgy upgrade to freshness.
The only thing bigger than fur trim this season is strategically-placed fringe. Fringe appeared in dozens of collections — ranging from Stevie Nicks-chic to something a little more modern. Whether it’s a fringe trimmed bag or full fringed pencil skirt this trend seems to be here to stay. From feathers to fabric fringe is a must have this season.
Speaking of fur….
Fur was everywhere! It’s not your grandmother’s mink coat anymore. From brightly dyed fur coats and jackets to hand bags to robes; fur has taken over the collections. Not just furs either, shearlings made a big impact as well. Fox was the top choice this season adding luxurious touches to several collections. Fox stoles in particular, are making a big come back. Fur was used for unexpected pieces, such as a mink shirt or a monochromatic fur pencil skirt. We saw detachable fur linings from Jason Wu, patchwork pieces from Oscar de la Renta, robes, coats, and muffs from Michael Kors, and trapper hats and shearlings from Ralph Lauren. These furs break out of the mold of stuffy and crash through the door of modern, stylish, and stimulating.
